As electrification technology grows ever more advanced, the increasing sophistication and complexity of systems makes it increasingly difficult to understand the intricate interrelationships between component parts.
For example, an unplanned outage at a factory may be traced back to an individual circuit breaker. Replacing the breaker may treat the symptom, but it won’t identify the underlying electrical issues which caused the breaker to fail in the first place.
